Women Reveal What Makes Their Perfect Valentine’s Day

Each year as February 14th approaches, men across the world rack their brains to come up with the perfect Valentine’s Day treat for their partner. Well, help is at hand in the form of a Valentines-themed consumer survey that’s offered some insight into what ladies want for Valentine’s Day, and the good news is that it’s not as complicated as you might think!

It seems that the humble bunch of flowers still reigns as the most wished-for Valentine’s Day gift, as half of all the ladies surveyed said they were hoping to receive a beautiful bouquet this February. Whether you choose the traditional twelve red roses, a hand-tied array of pink carnations or just a simple yet striking posy of lilies, say it with flowers this Valentine’s Day to make sure it’s one your lady will remember.

Don’t forget to choose a touching Valentine’s Day card to accompany those flowers too – just under half of the ladies said they’d like to receive one, and with such a wonderful selection of valentines cards available to buy online from greetings card specialists such as Hallmark, many of which can be personalised for that extra thoughtful touch, there’s no excuse for forgetting.

Make a Meal of It

What’s more, it appears that Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion on which to show off your culinary skills, as over 40% of women would love to tuck into a home-cooked meal with their loved one on the day. However if your cooking skills are more ‘blooming awful’ than Blumenthal, fear not as a third of women stated that they’d be perfectly happy to be wined and dined at a restaurant instead.

On the other hand, if your budget allows you to make a more grand statement you’ll be pleased to know that according to 43% of women, their ideal Valentine’s Day would be spent enjoying a road trip, or even on a romantic weekend getaway. Of course, these things don’t have to be costly, and if you act fast you could snap up a great Valentine’s Day deal on a beautiful hotel to whisk your loved one away from it all. So even if you’re among the 15% of men that claimed that they only celebrate Valentine’s Day to please their partner, you should have no problem choosing a surprise to put a smile on her face, and give her a Valentine’s Day memory to treasure!
