Last week we received some lovely children's hair products from Mixed Chicks; a new brand for us but one we now love very much.
Kids haircare by Mixed Chicks is a gorgeous new range of products designed specifically for children with naturally curly hair. My girls have naturally wavy hair and their hair can become very fizzy. Little Ones hair gets very tangled and can be a nightmare to manage.
The original product range, for women, has a large following including celebrity fans including Hollywood actress Halle Berry, Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, and chart-toppers such as Jordin Sparks and Ciara.
It's not just curly celebs who are enjoying well defined, frizz-free curls; now their children getting in on the act with the launch of kids haircare by Mixed Chicks. Dancing on Ice star, Baroness Oona King loves the range and uses it on her three adopted children’s gorgeous curls. Ex-Corrie and Waterloo favourite Angela Griffin is also a fan; and understandably so! Just look at my Daughter hair after using Mixed Chicks Hair products! It's wavy, shiny, tangle and frizz-free; absolutely gorgeous!
We were sent some samples of Mixed Chicks Kids Haircare Shampoo, Conditioner & Leave-in conditioner, plus a bottle of Kids Tangle Tamer (RRP £9.95 each)
The Mixed Chicks range is paraben, sulphate and alcohol free.. The moisturising Kids shampoo cleanses gorgeous curls without stripping the hair and leaving it dry and prone to frizz, the kids conditioner is designed to help mum or dad comb through kid’s hair without problem - something we struggle with on a daily basis! The kids leave in conditioner is worked through wet hair and left to air dry for 'guaranteed beautiful, soft and defined curls.'
Look at the photo above; that was after it had been washed and conditioned with both the Kids conditioner AND the leave-in conditioner. It was such a pampering treat for the girls and their hair looked amazing the next day.
The kids tangle tamer can be used to revive your little one’s curls in between washes; which we have done for the past few days. The kids tangle tamer has a light moisturising formula which helps to revive bed head and give wild hair a fresh look with a quick fix. It does tame the frizz and certainly makes it easier to comb through. Little One was disappointed that it doesn't have a lasting fragrance (her usual brand leaves her hair smelling of apples) but it's a really nice, natural product and the 237ml bottle lasts for quite a while - Great for taming that morning birds nest some children wake up with every morning! (Like mine!)
The shampoo is really lovely. It smells gorgeous and feels luxiorious when lathering the hair. It left Little Ones hair, squeaky clean. The condotioner is great too. It feels moisturising even in your hand and covers the hair well. It left her hair soft and managable. The leave-in condititoner was an extra treat for Little Ones hair, and gave it a boost of much needed moisture. You do only need a small about too, which is great!
The curl defining formula is designed for curly kids with all hair types, and is particularly great on mixed race, Mediterranean and Afro hair, Mixed Chicks founder Wendi Levy points out: “hair products shouldn’t be designed around what race somebody is, but rather what texture their hair is.”
Mixed Chicks was designed by two mixed race women (Kim Etheridge and Wendy Levy) who found it difficult to find products that suited their hair texture – as neither European nor Afro hair products seemed to work for them.
I do like to share when I find a wonderful new product so I have teamed up with Mixed Chicks who have generously offered one of their fantastic quad packs for one of you to win! The pack includes a full-size bottle of each of the products I've featured today (worth £38)
