I do love a good weepy and I was not disappointed with one of Warner Bros latest releases, Now Is Good; starring the beautiful Dakota Fanning.
The story follows passionate seventeen year old Tessa, who is diagnosed with a terminal illness. Determined not to waste a single moment of her life, she attempts to fit in as many 'normal teenager' experiences as she can; including taking drugs (!!) and losing her virginity. With the help of her best friend Zoey, they embark on fulfilling her list, introducing Tessa to a whole new world whilst her family deal with their grief and incomprehension of the situation each in their own way. Falling in love was certainly not on Tessa's list but it proves to be the most exhilarating experience of all.
You'll laugh out loud, feel the families anger, frustration and pain, and you WILL cry as you ride this breathtaking emotional roller coaster. We really enjoyed watching it. It's one of those movies you won't forget and leaves you feeling a mixture of emotions. The cast is outstanding and Dakota, who portrays Tessa is utterly brilliant in her role. A stunning film.
The movie is rated a 12. But I personally wouldn't allow my 12 year old to watch it. It contains some strong language, drug use, sex references and obviously, a terminal illness theme. My advice would be to watch it first and make the decision yourself.
Now Is Good was released on DVD (+UV copy) on 21st January 2013, so if you are looking for a good movie to watch I'd recommend grabbing this one.
Available from Amazon at £12.
