Treating injuries with Deep Relief

Both myself and Daddy suffer with back pain, joint pain and stiffness and during the winter months these ailments leave us more susceptible to injury.

Recently Daddy hurt his back at work and although it wasn't serious, it did cause him discomfort. Deep Heat sent him some Deep Relief gel to try, which is a topical pain relief product containing 2 active ingredients: ibuprofen and levomenthol. Deep Relief acts on both inflammation and interrupting pain signals; levomenthol stimulates the nerves that perceive cold whilst suppressing the nerves that perceive pain, so less or no pain is felt. Deep Relief is a clear, non-sticky gel that is absorbed through the skin to help give a local inflammatory effect.

It can be effective for the relief of;
  • Rheumatic pain
  • Muscular aches and pains
  • Swellings such as strains, sprains, backache and sport injuries

Did it work?

Yes, it definitely had an effect on the pain. Deep Relief is the first remedy to combine ibuprofen and levomenthol which gives a 2-way pain relief. In our opinion this can be effective for minor injuries or pain. If the pain was more severe it did not completely soothe the pain, but there was a noticeable improvement. It absorbs quickly into the skin and Daddy started to feel the effects about about 10 minutes or so. Although this is a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) it is a topical treatment and unlike oral NSAIDs, it doesn't not affect the stomach because it is applied directly to the affected area.

Available from Tesco, and all other major supermarkets and pharmacies nationwide.

Disclosure: I was sent some Deep Relief in return for an honest review.
