Last minute half term ideas (London)

If like me, you've hit mid-week and have run out of things to do; why not pop along to some of these fantastic events (assuming you are London bound, of course!)

Head down to John Lewis in Oxford Street today (1st November) as Poppy Cat, the star of the hit pre-school series visits John Lewis, Oxford Street, on 1st November from 11am -12.30pm to celebrate the launch of the new Poppy Cat toys and books. There will also be a special guest appearance by voice of Poppy Cat, Joanna Page (Gavin & Stacey).

The John Lewis Poppy Cat day will include a story reading from the new Poppy Cat books. There will be a colouring-in corner and visitors can enter a draw to win the new Talking Poppy Cat toy and a copy of the new books. Poppy Cat stickers will also be given to each child on the day.

Finally, there's just 2 days left to see the once in a lifetime Sylvanian Families art exhibition at The Strand Gallery.

Families across the country have refused to staycation this half term and have instead insisted on travelling to Sylvania! For one week only, fans of famous toy brand Sylvanian Families have been able to discover a world of Sylvania in the heart of London simply by popping in to the Strand Gallery, but that week is almost over!

The Sylvanian Families: A Study in Art exhibition launched on Monday and has proved the perfect family day out for half term, transporting children and their parents to an idyllic world. A collection of works from fans of all ages, both children and professional artists, are on display in
celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Sylvanian Families. Budding artists are also able to show off their own artistic talents at the colouring activity table, making this the perfect free family day out to inspire and celebrate a child’s creativity. However, with half term drawing to a close, the Sylvanian Families must head home too. Make sure you catch the exhibition on either Friday or
Saturday before the Families leave.

Don’t miss out!

The Strand Gallery, 32 John Adams Street,
City of London, WC2N 6BP.
Opening hours: 11am to 6 pm.

Have fun!
